We have recently experienced a miracle with one of our members. God rarely moves in the timing or way we want, but He does humble Himself to be moved by our prayers. It is incredible and humbling that the God of the universe should allow His hand to be moved by the faith and faithfulness of His children. It means we have to be careful and constant in prayer.
James 5:13-18 (From the Tree of Life Bible)
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of Messiah’s community, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. So confess your offenses to one another and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person is very powerful. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain. And it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
What do we do if God doesn't seem to be answering our prayers. We do two things. First of all, we make sure we are praying with the right motives (James 4:3). If we have checked ourselves in light of God's Spirit and Word and are praying with the right motives, the only other thing to do is to keep praying until we see a breakthrough (Luke 18:1-8, Romans 12:12, Colossians 4:2). So, let us continue to lift one another up in prayer. Pray for my family and me, pray for Tikvat Ami, pray for Israel, pray for comfort and salvation, pray for our nation, pray, pray, pray for your family. Send me prayer requests so that I may lift you up in prayer as well.
